Product label certification in Indonesia’s halal industry is mandatory and must serve the greater good in both this world and the hereafter (maslahah), provide protection and product assurance, and bring goodness (thoyib) in all aspects without causing harm. Halal product labeling serves as the basis for verifying that a product whether a good or food item has undergone verification, as many products lack proper standards regarding hygiene, management, and quality of primary raw materials; consequently, the entire process from production to sale must undergo verification to be classified as halal. The purpose of this study is to identify the categorization of maslahah in halal product certification in light of the halal product labeling initiative currently being promoted by the government. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach and relies on secondary data collection. The results demonstrate that halal product certification and labeling are categorized as “maslahah,” and the obligation to obtain halal certification must be implemented gradually, as it is essential for human life to ensure maslahah in preserving religion, life, reason, lineage, and property. Consumer satisfaction with halal certification is associated with maslahah through the fulfillment of both physical and spiritual needs. Religious teachings place great emphasis on achieving a balance between the spiritual aspects of this world and the hereafter, grounded in the values of maslahah.
