Qurseey: An International Journal of Interdisciplinary Qur’anic Studies

Qurseey is a peer-reviewed, fully open-access international journal dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary scholarship on the Qur’an across the humanities and social sciences. Qurseey invites original research and review articles that explore how the Qur’an is interpreted, mobilized, contested, and lived in contemporary contexts. The journal seeks contributions that examine the Qur’an not only as a text, but as a dynamic source of meaning that shapes knowledge systems, social authority, identities, and human behavior across diverse settings.

We welcome theoretical, historical, and empirical studies that investigate how Qur’anic interpretation interacts with changing social, political, cultural, psychological, and technological environments.

The Qur’an in Transformation: Knowledge, Power, Identity, and Behavior

Suggested Topics Include (but are not limited to):

  • Qur’anic hermeneutics and exegesis
  • The Qur’an, politics, and authority
  • The Qur’an and socio-economic changes
  • The Qur’an, gender, and identity
  • The Qur’an in public discourse and media
  • The Qur’an, psychology, emotion, and human behavior

Both theoretical and empirical contributions are welcome.

Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscript types: Research articles (6,000–8,000 words); Review articles (5,000–7,000 words
  • Language: English
  • Referencing: APA 7th edition (using reference managers such as Zotero or Mendeley)
  • Transliteration: IJMES system
  • Peer review: Double-blind
  • Open access: Yes (no submission or publication fees)
