Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate and improve the understanding of agricultural pledge (rahn) systems among members of the Ciole-Ole Farmers Group in Alamendah Village, Rancabali District, Bandung Regency. Most local farmers faced fluctuating harvest incomes, leading them to pledge their agricultural land to capital providers as an immediate economic solution. However, traditional practices often involved redeeming land with active crops without written agreements, causing economic losses or operational disputes. The community service program implemented an educational approach utilizing interactive socialization, focus group discussions (FGD), and pre- and post-test assessments to evaluate knowledge improvement. The intervention successfully enhanced the farmers' understanding regarding the strict prohibition of unilateral harvest acquisition and the financial hazards of implicit interest (riba). Furthermore, the results demonstrated that integrating multi-contract frameworks such as leasing (ijarah) or profit-sharing (muzara'ah) ensured institutional justice and compliance with Islamic jurisprudence.
