Abstract

Background:. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of "Vimaspro" (Animated Videos on Reproductive Health) a digital, interactive innovation in improving the reproductive health knowledge of elementary school students.

Method: This study uses Quantitative research with a Quasi Experiment design with a One Group Pretest-posttest Design which aims to determine the level of knowledge about reproductive health with Intervention using animated video media. The population in this study were 29 fifth grade elementary school students, with sample determination using the Total sampling technique, namely the entire population being sampled. The research instrument used a questionnaire about reproductive health knowledge consisting of the concept of reproductive health, the function of the reproductive organ system and prevention of violence and sexual harassment. The Data Analysis Technique used the Paired t-test which aims to determine significant differences between the pretest-posttest.

Result: The mean score on the pretest was 21.37, which then increased to 26.55 on the posttest. Statistical analysis yielded a p-value of 0.000, indicating a highly significant difference or a highly significant effect attributable to the use of Vimaspro (an animated video on reproductive health) on knowledge regarding reproductive health among adolescents.

Implication: The implications of this study are: First, the elementary schools' headmasters in Indonesia should enrich the teachers' knowledge and insight related to social attitude assessment. Second, the government, supported by researchers, has to design an excellent assessment system to solve time limitations.

Novelty: The present study revealed the implementation of social attitudes assessment in elementary school comprehensively.
