Pengaruh persepsi pola asuh otoriter terhadap kepercayaan diri pada siswa smp negeri 11 gresik

Abstract

Self-confidence is an attitude possessed by a person in the form of belief in their potential and the courage to take risks. This study aims to determine the influence of perceptions of authoritarian parenting styles on self-confidence among students at SMP Negeri 11 Gresik. The research method used is quantitative. The population in this study consists of students in grades VII, VIII, and IX. The sample size is 233 students. The sampling technique employed is Accidental Sampling. Data on the variables of authoritarian parenting perception and self-confidence were collected by distributing questionnaires. The scale used in this study was a Likert scale with four answer options. The measurement tools for the authoritarian parenting perception scale and the self-confidence scale were developed by the researcher. The validity of the scale was tested using content validity. Reliability was calculated using Cronbach's Alpha. The data analysis technique used was simple linear regression. The results of this study showed a coefficient of determination of 0.104 or 10.4% with a significance level of P < 0.05, indicating that there is an influence of authoritarian parenting perception on self-confidence among students at SMP Negeri 11 Gresik. The remaining 89.6% is influenced by variables not studied in this research, which may be influenced by other factors such as age maturity, physical appearance, and so on. The research category for the authoritarian parenting style perception variable among the subjects falls into the moderate category, with 171 subjects (73%), and the self-confidence variable among the subjects also falls into the moderate category, with 170 subjects (73%).

Kepercayaan diri merupakan sikap yang dimiliki oleh seseorang berupa keyakinan pada potensi yang dimilikinya dan berani mengambil resiko yang akan terjadi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh persepsi pola asuh otoriter terhadap kepercayaan diri pada siswa SMP Negeri 11 Gresik. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII, VIII, dan IX. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 233 siswa. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah Accidental Sampling. Data penelitian variabel persepsi pola asuh otoriter dan kepercayaan diri dengan cara menyebarkan kuesioner. Skala yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala Likert dengan 4 pilihan jawaban. Alat ukur skala persepsi pola asuh otoriter dan skala kepercayaan diri disusun sendiri oleh peneliti. Uji validitas skala menggunakan validitas isi. Uji reliabilitas dihitung melalui Cronbach’s Alpha. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai koefisien determinan sebesar 0,104 atau 10,4% dengan taraf signifikansi P < 0,05 yang berarti terdapat pengaruh persepsi pola asuh otoriter terhadap kepercayaan diri pada siswa SMP Negeri 11 Gresik. Sedangkan sisanya 89,6% dipengaruhi oleh variabel yang tidak diteliti, bisa dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain seperti kematangan usia, penampilan fisik, dan sebagainya. Kategori penelitian ini pada variabel persepsi pola asuh otoriter subjek termasuk kategori sedang, yaitu sebanyak 171 subjek dengan prosentase 73% dan variabel kepercayaan diri subjek termasuk kategori sedang, yaitu sebanyak 170 subjek dengan prosentase 73%.
