Philosophy of science has an important role in physiotherapy services. In order to apply what is contained in the philosophy of science, it must be understood and focused on the understanding of human health and illness. For the development of physiotherapy science, research is needed with the right method as an effort to empirically prove the usefulness of a physiotherapy technology. The research results can be applied in physiotherapy services so that physiotherapy technology is based on evidence that has been proven empirically. One such technique is using the skimming technique. The purpose of this study is to find out whether the skimming technique is appropriate for use in the TOEFL reading test for students of the Orthotic Prosthetics Department of Health Polytechnic of Surakarta. The research method used is a quantitative experimental research method with a One group Pre and Post Test Design. The number of Orthotic Prosthetic students in semester III totaled 60 people in two classes, the sample was taken by random sampling. The TOEFL reading test consists of 50 numbers. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the use of skimming techniques can increase TOEFL Reading Test scores for Diploma III students of the Orthotic Prosthetics Department of the Surakarta Polytechnic of Health.
2022-12-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2022 Noerdjanah, Sugiono, M. This case arises mainly due to shortening of the piriformis muscle so that it suppresses the sciatic nerve. Physiotherapy as a health worker plays a role in treating ischialgia cases where nerve mobilization technology in this case has not been widely implemented. The objectives of the study was to determine the effectiveness of nerve mobilization after being given standard therapy. Research subjects: Patients who were treated at Sunafa with complaints of ischialgia ec piriformis syndrome who met the study criteria. This study is experimental research in the form of a two group pre and post test design, place at Sunafa Physiotherapy practice from March to May 2023. Subjects were divided into 2 groups by lottery, namely group I as many as 18 research subjects received standard therapy treatment and nerve mobilization and group II as many as 17 research subjects received standard therapy treatment. VAS of both groups, namely initial and final VAS. In group I, the initial VAS averaged 68.61mm and the final VAS averaged 8.83mm. In group II, the initial VAS was 61.53 mm and the final VAS was 10.67 mm. Data analysis results shows that data normality test for group I initial VAS p=0.128 (p>0.05), final VAS p=0.04 (p<0.05), in group II initial VAS p=0.098 (p>0.05) and final VAS p=0.005 ( p<0.05). So the initial VAS data for the two groups were normally distributed and the final VAS data for the two groups were not normally distributed, so the data was tested non-parametric. The results of the data homogeneity test obtained p=0.049 (p<0.05) meaning that the data was not homogeneous. Group I Wilcoxon test obtained p=0.000 (p<0.001). Group II Wilcoxon test obtained p=0.000 (p<0.001). The Mann-Whitney test between groups I and II found p=0.284 (p>0.05). There was an effect of standard therapy and nerve mobilization on reducing ischilagia pain ec piriformis syndrome (p=0.00), there was an effect of standard therapy on reducing ischilagia pain ec piriformis syndrome (p=0.00), there was no difference in the effect between standard therapy and nerve mobilization with standard therapy alone in reducing ischialgia pain ec piriformis syndrome (p>0.05), standard therapy and nerve mobilization were as effective as standard therapy alone in reducing pain ischialgia ec piriformis syndrome. The conclusion of this study is standard therapy and nerve mobilization are as effective as standard therapy alone in reducing sciatic pain ec piriformis syndrome.
2022-12-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2022 Saifudin Zuhri, Sri Suwarnihttps://journal.nurscienceinstitute.id/index.php/jht/article/view/2130Pengaruh Kinesio Taping dan Deep Transverse Friction Terhadap Penurunan Nyeri Kasus Carpal Tunnel Syndrome pada Pekerja Pabrik Rokok2025-07-15T13:44:29+07:00Laila Romadhonalaila.dhona@gmail.comAgus Widodoaguswidodo@gmail.com
Carpal tunnel syndrome is an extremity disorder caused by narrowing of the carpal tunnel resulting in pressure on the median nerve at the wrist. The occurrence of irritation of the median nerve that causes tingling and numbness of the thumb, index, and middle fingers due to swelling or a change in the position of the tissue in the carpal tunnel compresses and irritates the median nerve. The process of working cigarette factory workers to pack cigarettes using traditional manual work methods by hand, can cause complaints of carpal tunnel syndrome. So, the purpose of this research is to find out how the effect of Kinesio Taping and Deep Transverse Friction with Carpal tunnel syndrome in the Packaging Section of a Cigarette Factory. This study was a quasi experimental research on the effect and symptoms of Kinesio Taping and Deep Transverse Friction for Carpal tunnel syndrome cases. Kinesio Taping stabilizes muscles, joints and improves blood circulation thereby reducing pain. Deep Transverse Friction increases range of motion reducing pain. The research subjects were all cigarette packaging workers who have Carpal tunnel syndrome case, totaling 20 people. Measurements to assess the pain scale using Boston Carpal tunnel syndrome. The results of the test of the effect of Kinesio Taping and Deep Transverse Friction showed by the p-value = 0.005 and 0,000 (p<0.05), so there are reducing pain in Kinesio Taping groups and Deep Transverse Friction groups. But there was not different of Kinesio Taping groups and Deep Transverse Friction groups on reducing carpal tunnel syndrome pain, showed by the p-value = 1,000 (p>0,005). The conclusion of this study, there is a significant relationship between Kinesio Taping and Deep Transverse Friction on reducing carpal tunnel syndrome pain in workers at the Djarum cigarette factory, but was not different of Kinesio Taping groups and Deep Transverse Friction groups on reducing pain.
2022-12-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2022 Laila Romadhona, Agus Widodo
